This sucks, John Hughes has died

by Nathan Taylor

News has come through today that well known film writer, producer and director John Hughes has died after suffering a heart attack whilst strolling through Manhattan.

Hughes was the man that shot Macaulay Culkin into super-stardom at an early age and was also responsible for those teen movies of the 80's and 90's.

In the last decade, Hughes had largely turned his back on Hollywood to run a farm in northern Illinois. But he will be most remembered for his hand in these great classics:
Home Alone series
Uncle Buck
National Lampoons Vacation series
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Sixteen Candles
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
The Breakfast Club
Weird Science
Pretty in Pink
Beethoven series

He was 59 and will be missed.
