Smallville producer talks of a 10th series!

Smallville, the TV series which tells the story of a young Clark Kent growing up into a man, one day, ‘Superman’, is currently on the verge of renewal for a mammoth 10th season.
Series nine is not even at the halfway point in the US but EW.com has just reported that the show's executive producer Kelly Souders is keen on a 10th year despite the fact that ratings have dropped slightly in the US due to a change in timeslot for the hit series to Friday nights.
“I think the word still isn’t out there that we’re on Friday nights. So if people keep tuning in and telling their friends about it, I think [a 10th season] is quite likely,”the producer has been quoted as saying.
Souders also hinted that if a 10th season was made it would most likely be the last and could finally see actor Tom Welling, who has played Clark Kent in the show for nine years, don the Superman costume in the series finale.
It’s not certain whether the revelation would occur in the first episode of the 10th season, somewhere in the middle or right at the very end.
My money would be at the very end. Go out with a bang I say.
It’s something fans have been waiting for and every episode of the series so far has seen Welling wear some sort of combination of blue, yellow or red in his attire.
And although he plays the title character of Clark Kent (aka Superman),Welling has admitted in numerous interviews that he is not a fan of the Superman comic books.
In Australia, the series airs on FOX 8.
