One of the most popular TV shows in the world is Gossip Girl and fans who think they know it all, well, here’s a few interesting facts the Extra Source has dug up about the hit show everyone’s talking about. How many of these did you already know about?1) The first episode became available on Apple iTunes as a free download on September 14 2007.
2) Gossip Girl was originally intended to be adapted into a film by Warner Bros with Lindsay Lohan as the big star.
3) The first actresses chosen for the series were Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.
4) The pilot episode starts with Serena on a train while the book starts with Blair and her friends talking.
5) Georgina Sparks was originally offered to Mischa Barton, who turned down the role.
6) Rufus' band, "Lincoln Hawk" is also the name of Sylvester Stallone's character in the movie Over the Top (1987).
7) Leighton Meester dyed her naturally blonde hair brunette when she went for the role of Blair Waldorf.
